The iSR Institute is the main research arm of the iSR. In view of the growing academic research and writing in the field of sports relations, the iSR Institute seeks to conduct advanced research that is theoretically sophisticated, empirically rigorous, and policy relevant in order to become one of the world's leading research centers on sports relations.

 

The iSR Institute is staffed by scholars with advanced degrees and training in the social sciences and humanities, whose interdisciplinary research and experience contribute to a dynamic and ambitious research agenda. In addition, the iSR Institute invites visiting research fellows, both in residence in South Korea and non-residence abroad, who bring a wide range of practical experience to inform the academic research of the iSR.

 

In addition, the iSR Institute always seeks to put its research and accumulated knowledge into action by performing consulting services for government agencies, international federations, national Olympic committees, private individuals, multinational corporations, and other organizations involved in global sports. The iSR Institute's consultant role serves as an important network building activity that contributes to the overall mission of the Foundation.
